Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front surfaces of natural teeth to improve the appearance of your smile. Veneers are minimally invasive and are used to improve the shape and colour of natural teeth. Porcelain veneers can fix teeth that are discolored, worn down, misaligned or have gaps between them. With veneers you can choose the shade and shape of teeth that best suits your smile.

“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”  Phyllis Diller

To design your best smile we need to listen and fully understand exactly what our patient expects. Patients undergoing cosmetic dentistry want to have the confidence to smile without worrying that their teeth are discolored, too short or broken. We start each treatment by studying each patient carefully. Using dental moulds, photos and measurements of your existing teeth we design each tooth individually. Our smile should be in alignment with our eyes and the corners of our lips. The correct size and shape of our teeth should be in proportion with our facial profile.

Using Digital Smile Design (DSD) we can now design and test your smile before any dental treatment begins. The new smile can be tested using a simple ‘tryin’ process. You will be able to see the color, shape and appearance of your new teeth before any dental treatment has been initiated.

Modifications and changes to this tryin can be made, the length of teeth can be increased or decreased the shape and position can all be adjusted to best suit the patients new smile. Once the design has been agreed the dentist and the dental technician will work closely together to commence the veneers treatment.

Veneers are ultra thin which is why they are considered minimally invasive. Unlike traditional crowns where extensive preparation of the teeth was required, veneers are usually less than 1mm in thickness. The dentist will use the digital smile design findings and reduce the natural teeth accordingly (usually by less than 1mm) We try to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible because we know that preserving as much natural tooth is always the best for the tooth long term.

    Hello,
I have a misaligned jaw, which caused to crack a lot of my teeths, do you think I will be still suitable for porcelein veeneers and also if it will be affecting the maxillofacial surgery that I am intending to do in the future (once I have the money)?
    Regards

  3. JACQUI ROGERS says:

Hello – I want a veneer on a front tooth. I dont live in Brighton (around 40 mile round trip) and work full time so I want to minimise the number of appts needed. Appreciate I would need an initial assessment. How many appointments after that would it take?
    Kind Regards

    • Bruno Silva says:

      Dear Jacqui
Thank you for your inquiry. We would be very happy to help you with your dental treatment needs. We normally recommend a thorough initial assessment to understand fully what treatment is required. The advantages, disadvantages and risks would be discussed and a treatment plan proposed. After this stage treatment would usually require a minimum of 3 appointments. The first treatment appointment would involve seeing a wax trial of your treatment both on a stone model as well as a trial in your mouth to see if you are happy with the planned restorations that could be required. The second treatment appointment would then be for tooth preparation if needed for the restorations. The third treatment appointment would be for fitting the restorations. Sometimes additional appointments may be needed if corrections or adjustments need to be made. There are many different types of dental porcelains which are used for crowns, bridges and veneers. In our clinic we use the Ivoclar Emax type which is both hard wearing and highly aesthetic. If you needed any further advice please do let me know
      Kind regards
      Bruno

  4. Sarah Jones says:

    Hi,

How much does a cosmetic consultation for veneers cost?

How long would the veneers approximately last?

    • Bruno Silva says:

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. A consultation with a dentist to discuss veneers would cost 25 pounds. During this consultation the dentist would assess the current status of your teeth, check to see that the teeth are stable and strong enough to be restored with veneers. It may be that your teeth do not need any veneers and could be treated with a different approach. Ultimately we need to have a thorough assessment first before we are able to give an indication of how long the veneers are likely to last. If you needed any more information please do let me know
      thanks

  5. Paul says:

Hi, I was just wondering what was your price for veneers and if you offered price plans in order to pay the treatment off in a more affordable way?

any help and advice would be greatly recieved

    • Bruno Silva says:

Hi Paul, thanks for your email. Before having any dental treatment we would recommend that you have a full assessment to make sure that the correct treatment is provided for your particular case. Dental veneers are very conservative restorations that can improve function and appearance of natural teeth. For more information about prices you can visit our price list. If you need any further information please feel free to contact us.
