Brighton Implant Clinic offers a FREE initial consultation with no obligation for patients who are considering dental implant treatment. During this 1 hour appointment we assess your dental health, check for oral cancer, take a FREE panoramic radio-graph, photos and impressions of your mouth.

Once we have collected all this information we discuss your treatment plan and alternatives with you. We show all our patients before and after photos of specific dental implant treatment relative to your case. If required we make sketches on your FREE panoramic radio-graph in order for you to fully understand what treatment is involved. We explain the advantages and disadvantages of each dental treatment alternative. We provide all the information necessary in order for you to make a well informed decision.

Step 1
The FREE initial consultation including FREE panoramic radio-graph. Impressions and photographs will be taken of your mouth in order to compile a comprehensive treatment plan. You may require a CT scan, this can be taken in any one of our three clinics ( the cost is £95 ). A CT scan allows the surgeon to accurately visualize in 3 dimensions how much bone is present. All options of treatment are discussed during this appointment. In most cases a treatment plan will be provided to you on the same day either by email or hard copy.

Step 2
Once you have decided to go ahead with treatment the next stage is getting started. In some cases it may be that you need to remove some damaged or diseased teeth first before implants can be placed. Your treatment plan will contain detailed notes of what will happen at each appointment during the treatment process. Once the implants are placed we have to allow for a suitable healing period for the implants to integrate with the jaw bone. This can take as little as 12 weeks or as long as 9 months ( depending on the procedure ) Don’t despair…. you can opt to have provisional fixed teeth to replace any gaps while the implants are healing.

Step 3
After the implants have healed, the dentist will check to see if the implants have integrated into the jaw bone. During the healing phase the bone and gums have healed. It is now time to take impressions of the healed implants. The impressions are sent to our dental laboratory who will start to make your final implant crown or bridge.

Step 4
This is the exciting part… where the implant will receive its permanent crown or bridge. During this stage the restorations will be tried and tested in the mouth, if the fit, shape, shade and color are perfect then the crown or bridge is secured onto the implants. On some occasions it may be necessary to make changes to the final crown such as color, size and shape in order for the patient to be completely satisfied. In these instances there may be a small delay in completing the treatment
Step 5
It is important that one understands that implants will require regular maintenance. Good oral hygiene is very important as are regular visits to your dentist and hygienist. Many patients who come to see us at the Brighton Implant Clinic opt to see their own dentist and hygienist so do not return to Brighton Implant Clinic for this stage.
